Gong is an American platform for analyzing business conversations, known as revenue intelligence. It targets large sales teams with a premium positioning. If you're looking for an alternative, it's usually for three reasons: price, which is by quote and without a free offer; a scope designed more for sales management than for everyday meeting minutes; and an American-Israeli publisher subject to U.S. law.

This page compares Gong and Leexi on what really matters for a European team: where your data goes, who can access it, and what the tool actually covers. It is published by Leexi: Leexi therefore appears in the comparison, evaluated with the same criteria as Gong, including where it falls short.

Choosing an alternative to Gong: hosting, AI training, scope

Before comparing features, three questions decide the choice.

  1. Where is your data hosted, and who can legally access it? A tool storing data in the U.S. is subject to post-Schrems II transfer rules. An American publisher, even when storing in Europe, remains subject to the Cloud Act: a U.S. authority can request data access.
  2. Is the model trained on your conversations? Meeting minutes contain client, HR, or strategic data. Some tools use this to train their AI, others do not.
  3. Does the tool cover your actual meetings? Video calls, but also phone and in-person. Many tools limit themselves to videoconferencing.

Gong: pricing by quote, designed for large sales teams

Gong records, transcribes, and analyzes sales calls: topic trackers, coaching scorecards, pipeline analysis. It's a sales management tool, not just a meeting assistant.

Dashboard leexi

It states it does not train its models on your conversations, offers European or American residency options, and holds a broad set of certifications (ISO 27001, ISO 42001, SOC 2).

Two points to note: pricing is not public (by quote, no free offer), and the publisher is an American company subject to the Cloud Act. For deep sales analysis, Gong goes further than Leexi for large sales organizations.

Leexi: data hosted in Europe and AI not trained on your meetings

Leexi is an AI note-taking tool published in Belgium. The assistant joins your Teams, Meet, or Zoom meetings, also records your phone calls and in-person meetings, then drafts the minutes: decisions, actions, deadlines, sending to CRM.

Your data is stored in Europe, with an option to host at Scaleway, a French provider. The language model processes your meetings without using them to train the AI, on all accounts. Leexi holds ISO 27001, provides a DPA and a list of its subcontractors, and encrypts data in transit and at rest.

Where Leexi falls short: by default, part of the infrastructure relies on American subcontractors (AWS, Azure), and only the Scaleway option removes this exposure. Leexi is not SecNumCloud certified, and its sales analysis is less advanced than Gong's for very large sales teams. Ten thousand companies use it in Europe.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Gong cost?

Pricing is not public. Gong operates by quote and does not offer a free or self-service trial. Expect a sales cycle before getting a figure. Leexi shows its Starter offer at $12 per user per month.

Does Gong store my data in Europe?

A European residency option is available, but the default is American: explicitly asked at subscription. The publisher remains an American company, thus subject to the Cloud Act regardless of region chosen. Leexi's Scaleway option meets strict sovereignty requirements by being outside this legal scope.

Does Gong analyze sales calls better than Leexi?

For deep sales analysis in large sales organizations, Gong goes further: topic trackers, coaching scorecards, pipeline analysis. It's a sales management tool. Leexi produces minutes, scoring per your method, and CRM feeding. The choice depends on what you manage.

Does Gong cover in-person meetings?

No. Gong covers videoconferencing and phone. A field salesperson meeting clients on-site reports nothing. Leexi records these meetings via the mobile app and treats them like videoconferences.

Does Gong use my conversations to train its AI?

No, Gong states it does not train its models on your conversations and holds ISO 27001, ISO 42001, and SOC 2 certifications. This is also Leexi's position. On this criterion, both tools make the same commitment.
